About Us
The family behind Australian Diamond Importers started in the diamond jewellery industry overseas in 1957. They are now third generation jewellers, diamond setters and diamond importers. The trade has been passed from Uncle to nephew and from father to son.
Kirkor Gregory Ervan was just a young boy when he learnt the trade of being a master jeweller from his uncle who owned the successful business “Vensan” in Pera Istanbul.
Kirkor went on to have his own successful business in Istanbul, before he migrated to Australia in 1971 where he started working for Diamond Traders.
Kirkor left Diamond Traders after just one year to start his own business in the Sydney CBD. A very short time later the business had grown and become one of the leading jewellery manufacturers employing over 55 people supplying for retail outlets in the Australasian region and Canada. In this time Kirkor’s own son became a setter and master jeweller and father and son worked alongside each other.
>Today, over 60 years later, the Ervan family still owns the business Kirkor Gregory Ervan founded, now called Australian Diamond Importers. The business is run by Kirkor’s son. It has downsized into a boutique jewellery studio office located in the Sydney CBD, designing and supplying high end jewellery and top quality diamonds and has a reputation for excellence.
